Senior Portrait Retouching

You’ve probably heard the term “retouching” used a lot in reference to portraits. Since this term is a bit subjective we'd like to take a moment to show you a typical example of a retouched senior portrait.

So How Does It Work?

Retouching a photo, by our definition, includes anything and everything from the very basic to very advanced. An example of a few advanced portrait retouching techniques includes color correction (which means shooting with a gray card or white balance card), contrast adjustments, levels adjustments and even black and white conversion. On the more straight forward side "retouching" means removing a like hair out of place, removing skin blemishes or airbrushing a piece of litter out of the background.

The photos you receive for viewing your proofs will look good straight out of the camera, but once you choose your favorite poses, there are many ways we can enhance a portrait to make it pop. This is part of the creative process and there is no charge for basic retouching. Advanced retouching, i.e. removing an entire person from a portrait, can be done at a small fee upon request.
