How do we reserve a portrait session with you?
Please call our studio any time at 314-256-9369 or send us an email with your contact information so we can call you.

How much does an engagement portrait session cost?
You can view our engagement portrait session prices here. However, we are currently including a free engagement portrait session when you select us as your wedding photographers.
Do you charge tax?
We do not charge sales tax on our packages because you are purchasing a service, which is tax free. The package price you see is the final package price. However, any a la carte items will be charged sales tax, since they are products.

How much do the actual photos cost?
We actually roll the price of the session and the cost of the photos into one convenient package for you. We also have an "A la Carte" section. Check out our Engagement Portrait Pricing for Details.

How much do you charge for a sitting fee?
No charge. We think a sitting fee is a sneaky way to get a few more dollars from you, so we don't do it. The price you see listed on our Engagement Photo Pricing Page is the final cost with no hidden fees. Pretty straight forward right?

When do we pay for the engagement portrait session?
If you have chosen us as your wedding photographers, the cost is included in your wedding package. Otherwise, we ask that you pay half up front to reserve the session date and the other half when you order your prints.

What types of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check or money order.

How long does the average engagement portrait session last?
The length of the session is typically 1-2 hours. We take our time so that we can get to know you better. Don't worry though, if we're in the middle of a shoot and the time has expired we won't stop right there. Our goal is to get good photos so if that means staying a few extra minutes then no problem.

What should we wear to the session?
For the engagement session, we want you to wear what makes you feel comfortable. If you are normally laid back and in jeans, that'll work just fine. If you are normally dressed to impress, that'll work too. Engagement sessions are meant to be fun and light, so don't stress the outfit too much. We would recommend basic patterns and also dressing according to the weather (if the engagement session will take place outside).

Where do you shoot the session?
If possible, we like to shoot the engagement session at the location of the wedding. If this is not possible, or you have another place in mind, we are flexible. If you need help deciding we can make a few recommendations, like the place where you met, or the place where you became engaged. We'll talk with you to come up with a good game-plan. After all, the photo session is about you and your needs. Once we find out what you're aiming for (or what your taste is) we can agree on a place. We'd prefer not to be cooped up in a studio and arm you with the same old standard studio props. There are so many photography studios that have that style covered. We like the natural, modern, fresh feel.

Will you travel outside of St. Louis?
Sure! Just let us know and we'll work out some sort of deal. (i.e. - gas mileage, etc.)

What happens if the weather is bad?
Great question! If we are planning on shooting outside, we can either reschedule or shoot indoors. It'd probably be best to reschedule but if you're in a pinch and need your photos we will be spontaneous and shoot somewhere indoors. We're pretty flexible though, and sometimes the best photos come from a "plan b".

What if we need to cancel our session?
Frankly we're a little hurt that you would ask such a thing. But seriously, you may be put in a position where you need to cancel and that's perfectly okay. It's no problem to reschedule for another date but would ask that you let us know at least one week in advance. Please keep in mind if you decide not to reschedule the fee to reserve the date cannot be refunded. In the case that the session was free with a wedding package, we are unable to offer an additional discount on the wedding package as compensation for not having an engagement session. We recommend that you schedule your engagement session with plenty of time to reschedule if necessary.

What if we don't like our portraits?
If you're not satisfied with the portraits then we're not satisfied. We'll gladly meet with you and reshoot the session again at no charge. Please let us know you're not satisfied after viewing the proofs and before we print them. This way we'll be able to reshoot your session right away to stay on track.

What happens after the photo session?
We take the photos back to our studio and work on your online proof gallery. We then upload the proofs and let you view them online. You can then select which poses from the photo shoot you would like to have printed.

What happens after we pick the proofs we want printed?
Once you have picked the proofs that you would like printed we'll spend a little more time with color correction, airbrushing, etc to make sure the photo is perfect. Then we'll send them to print which typically takes another week depending on the time of year.

Will you retouch our engagement portraits in Photoshop? If so, what's the cost?
Yes we will retouch the portraits before they are sent to print. There is no cost for this.

Is there a charge for converting a engagement portrait to black and white?
Absolutely not! We would feel really bad for charging extra money for clicking one extra button in Photoshop. We want you to have engagement portraits you're happy with so if that means converting a few to black and white, it's all our pleasure.
